Youth Centre News

The first meeting of the Bowen Youth Filmmakers Collective (working title) will be on Saturday, Feb 25th at 1pm at the Youth Centre. If you're a filmmaker or have always wanted to be one, we need you to be a part of the formation of this guerilla filmmakers' association. We're gathering anyone who's shooting their own films with their friends, secretly writing a script at home, or would just like to learn more about the art of making movies.  For this first meeting, we'll talk about different technical and creative skills everyone would like to learn, share ideas about movies you've been working on or would like to make, and try to come up with an official name for ourselves.  We'll be setting up a series of weekend workshops where you can learn more about writing, pre-production, lighting, camera work, sound, directing, and editing. We'll also be having monthly meetings where you can share what you've been working on, recieve guidance and support with any challenges you're having on your movie, and screen films from the world's greatest filmmakers. For more information, contact Cam or John. Can't wait to see you there.

Hello Everyone. My name is John Stiver, and I will be taking over for Matt as the Youth Services Co-Ordinator. I am very excited to begin working with the terrific programs already in place, and expanding some, like the Thursday night music. We will soon be adding a PA system, and a drum kit to the Youth Center, once our new renos are complete. I look forward to seeing you here!

We now have an Xbox at the Youth Centre, but only one controller. If anyone has and extra one please let us know or bring it on by.
